How to import and export in SAS

Import an external dataset into SAS environment

proc import datafile = “F:\SAS Documents\Admit.xls”

out = work.class

DBMS = EXCEL;

range = “Sheet1$”;

run;

Check whether the file exists or not in the Work Library

data Testing;

set Class;

put “See the Execution of the program in the log window:”_all_;

run;

proc print data=Work.Testing;

run;

Now export this dataset back to your computer with a different name “testing”

proc export data=Testing

outfile = “F:\SAS Documents\testing.xls”

DBMS= EXCEL

replace;
