John Hubert Kelly – John Hubert Kelly was an American diplomat who served as United State’s ambassador to many countries throughout the world. A native of Wisconsin, John graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined the American foreign service in 1965, and held numerous posts around the world. He most famously served as United States’ Ambassador to Lebanon from 1986 to 1988 and to Finland from 1991 to 1994. During the Gulf War from 1989 to 1991, John acted as Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. John was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and lost his life on 15th September 2011 after a two year battle with the disease.
